Welcome,
I’m Sarah
Your personal nurse & health coach
My Motivation
Some say age is just a number, but I’ve heard so many of my patients lament this sentiment when they start feeling the effects of age and disease on their bodies. They confide in me that they feel young in their mind and soul, but their body has begun to stray along the way. Our healthcare system provides band-aides (often necessary ones!) for their ailments, but I see those who want to continue living to their full potential, and our healthcare system isn’t designed to support them with this desire. This is where I come in.
I have provided education for countless patients upon discharge from the hospital. In these crucial moments, I often long for more quality time that is lacking in this rushed environment. My patients, filled with a mix of emotions, are eager to return home yet overwhelmed with the information presented to them, worried that the life they still want to live is slipping away.
Witnessing struggles with new and often difficult experiences has revealed the immense pressure of absorbing vast amounts of information, and daunting change. The recommendations for lifestyle changes to promote health and well-being can feel intimidating and are often neglected not due to reluctance, but due to the sheer magnitude of the task. It is in this very space that I thrive the most – collaborating with you to uncover what truly drives and excites you, leading to sustainable changes that resonate with your goals and aspirations so that you can start to live the way you want to in the years ahead.
Who am I
My name is Sarah, and I am a registered nurse and health coach with five years of experience in hospital acute care. During this time, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of patients, including those in stroke recovery, managing heart disease, facing digestive disorders, dealing with diabetes, battling cancer, handling chronic wounds, and navigating various other health challenges. In addition to my clinical work, I have taken on the role of training new graduate nurses to meet the demands of our expanding hospitals as a Clinical Nursing Instructor at one of the top nursing schools in Colorado. Growing up in a family that valued holistic health practices, I have pursued formal education in holistic nursing, functional medicine, and health and wellness coaching to better support my clients in achieving their health goals.
I received my nursing degrees with honors from both Front Range Community College and The University of Colorado Beth-El College of Nursing. I was trained in holistic nursing, functional medicine for nurses, and health and wellness coaching from the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy.
In my free time I love to be outside as much as possible. You can find me in the Colorado mountain west where in live in Fort Collins, either on my gravel bike or mountain bike, taking on new challenges that scare me. When I’m not pedaling on two wheels, I’m taking a stroll with my sweet old dog or begging friends to play canasta with me! I hope to also live a long and healthy life.
